For Jacquie Zanck, opening Blazin Saddles is a dream come true. " This has been a dream of mine for years... over 13 years. Work hard, dream big! I have always been a cyclists, from riding my Schwinn as a little girl- to riding with baby in tow - to competing in mountain bike racing in Colorado - to Ironman in New Zealand - to many Cycle Oregon's... I have seen many miles on my bike.
This has been a dream of mine for years... over 13 years. Work hard, dream big!
I have also spent hours on a spin bike - instructing the first class for SAC in the now the Blazin Saddles location - to personal training and I continue to teach. I started Blazin Saddles with my son, Casey. Who has been in the bike industry since he was young and coming to my races.. He has attended OSU and also United Bicycle Institute and went on to managing some larger bike shops around. The timing was perfect! My daughters, Chelsea and Peytan have been very involved also! Incredible to work as a family business in this day and time. Could not have done it without them! I worked on this plan for quite awhile and decided I was not going to live my life with regrets. So... I had to go for it! Poor economy sometimes presents itself with other opportunities - and that's what I focused on.
I started Blazin Saddles with the community in mind, "my goal it have a 'hub' area that people are welcome to come and join before a ride, hike, climb, run, walk - whatever your active lifestyle passion is. Have a cup of our Blazin Brew. The apparel and services we provide, meet the needs for those active lifestyles. And also casual wear, yoga wear etc... (Blue Canoe, Element, Billabong, Sanuk, Horny Toad, Ellington etc. etc)
Come check it out! Personal, professional, knowledgeable, experienced service is critical to our success and customer satisfaction. We offer rental, repairs, retail.
I feel very strong about integrating into the community and schools. We are offering a 10% discount to all Sisters School District students. We want the youth involved in cycling, hiking, running, etc. etc. It is right in our back door.
Already we are blazin' the trail of community support as we raised $250 to help the high school's mountain bike team and gave away a new bike to a young rider at our grand opening. Since then we have helped support the community events and have been involved with activities and fundraisers.
I moved to Sisters from Sandpoint, ID - was a Buyer for Coldwater Creek. Prior to that - Buyer for Christy Sports in Vail Colorado - large ski/bike company, and Buyer for Lands' End in WI - where I was born and raised. Attended college in Madison, WI. Involved in Professional Women of America and other Women Entrepreneurial groups.
I look forward to seeing you at Blazin Saddles or Black Butte Ranch!
